It’s so nice to know about useful services on the Web like TinyURL, which allow surfers, lurkers, and spammers alike to shorten lllllllllooooooooooonnnnnngggggg URLs. Sometimes though, entering these URLs with their hashed random letters gets on my nerves as much as entering the whole thing would have. On top of that, many sites (especially tech ones) take great pleasure in doing so.
One Yahoo! employee finally couldn’t take it any longer, and started GiganticURL.com to take out his frustration. Why bother with a puny 8 character hash, when you can go in for a roomy 2048 character one? For example, here’s the GiganticURL for my blog…
