Buh-bye, Bill Gates! We’ll miss you!

It’s a sad news, even for a Linux enthusiast like me. I like Bill Gates (official site), the person, how a teenager rose to the top of the computing world, from very small beginnings. But it’s this very success of Microsoft that has made it, and him, the target of the computer users with the ‘evil’ tag. He is a nice guy, donating billions for various charity causes, it’d be nice if he does something like Canonical’s free Linux CD distribution program; Microsoft has more than enough money for it, and it will only generate goodwill. Make Windows open-source, and I’ll support it.

Have a happy retirement though, Bill. His philanthrophic nature is very endearing. Read his Wikipedia page.

I could have been there at World Cup

Don’t ask the circumstances. I got a call from Yahoo! today that they are going to send me all-expenses paid trip to watch FIFA World Cup 2006. But I had to refuse because of ******* ‘unavoidable circumstances’. I had won in their WC2006 quiz, and could have been hobnobbing with Ronaldo, but alas, it seems destiny didn’t have it in mind.

Too bad then. Can’t report live from Germany about the World Cup on my blog.
