I’ve been using Blogger for quite some time now, and indeed, I’ve always been very supportive of it. Right now though, all I want to do is smash the servers of this Google-bought service. That’s because it doesn’t give proper service. Yes folks, Blogger sucks. Yes, it may give more freedom in HTML editing, but doesn’t come with many good native templates (and the good ones are almost NEVER updated to the latest Blogger item calls). What prompts me into saying all this now is the fact that my blog’s feed is now showing (a few) items ONLY from the Yahoo-niverse category, that too from oldest date. Consequently, my new FeedBurner feed to is malfunctioning as it’s getting ‘polluted’ data. Now why the fuck can’t a big company like Google provide reliable service. I’ve got so irked today that I’ve backed up everything in GQ’s Blahg on WordPress, and I swear I’ll really make the switch one day if it goes to far. Or maybe, since the storage limits on WordPress are pretty low, I’m seriously thinking of buying meself some hosting.

I figured out why this is happening. Blogger publishes the posts even when a small update is done, so when I applied new tags, the posts come as new ones. How dumb! I’d pointed this out earlier too. I’m still thinking of switching over RIGHT NOW to some good hosting.
You’re an ass! Only because you didn’t use your brain.
I’ve been experiencing such problems with MTNL and Airtel quite often and am afraid it isn’t Blogger or Google’s fault when something like this occurs. I use Tor and everything works just fine. It’s the frigging TRAI which does not do anything to regulate the quality.
As far as storage is concerned, you should probably thank Google for making Yahoo originally realise that 4MB was such a “fucking” low quantity.
Microsoft’s 2MB was even better.
I love GMail since it doesn’t cause memory leaks on small amounts of RAM like the new Yahoo interface. Leave YMB on for a day continuously and see what happens to your box.
If you like Yahoo because of the unlimited storage you should like Rediff even better, since they’re the ones who used their brains to realise that no regular user would ever use more than 100MB a month(hell, even I’ve gone to that level only once) and it wouldn’t hurt saying that the limited space is unlimited.
They of course by increasing storage, don’t increase the sending capacity to 100MB per email. The day Google does something like that, it will pain Yahoo and Rediff more than it is paining you reading this comment now.
Sorry for being rude. I can’t help it. A MS vs. Apple discussion on by blog has made me very vocal about my thoughts.
And if I may suggest, please don’t use 4-letter words and derivatives. It hurts pagerank.
Congrats on going OT. :p And I really don’t care about PageRank, because I blog because I like doing it. Not for PageRank.
As for Gmail, I may point out that the occasion when hundreds of Gmail users lost everything on their account was because they’d left their ID open too long. At least, Yahoo! Mail doesn’t go crazy deleting emails.
Did you note my point that paying users of Google Apps are faces downtime issues in Gmail? And this has been a recurring problem.
As for the Blogger feed, the new default feeds show items according to last updated, as I’d pointed out once earlier too. Which, is pretty foolish. Your brethern on the Google Operating System blog say that too.
Oh, so it’s fine when Gmail raises storage, but I’m an ass if I like Yahoo for going a step further. Logical indeed. Just accept that you’re jealous, and end the story.
Well, I could be jealous. But why? Because Yahoo does something that has already been done in the past? You didn’t at all read my part of the comment about attachment limits.
So? Yahoo and Gmail offer same attachment size. At least on Yahoo you can get more with Yahoo Mail plus. Jealous you sure are, because Yahoo has done something pathbreaking this time. You expected Google to reach ‘Infinity + 1’ first, and Yahoo did. THAT, my pal, is what irks you.
Hmmm…Gmail’s birthday is let’s see 3 days away.
Even if it does make a similar announcement, Yahoo did get there first. Now, history books will be written THIS way – ‘There was a time when people got measly 2.8 GB storage on Gmail. Then came Yahoo, and released people from all limits.’ Come one, what are you comparing it against? 250 million Yahoo Mail users vs 9 million Gmail.
Onkur, refer your history books once again, Yahoo! mail was one of the first public mail services to come. Gmail came about in 2004, and Yahoo, perhaps even before 94.. in that 10years of lead, Yahoo! currently enjoys the same advantage that MS enjoys over Linux.
And please refrain urself from using 4-letter words, not for PR, but my mom just learnt using RSS feeds, so ur blog is a family blog now.. 😉
And seriously, even on a 2mbps connection, YMB takes more time in loading up that Gmail does, it is a hefty application, I dont know why it probably runs faster in your place…
And also, why the “fuck” (sorry, couldnt help it! :P)is an MS ad doing on ur blog, I mean on Onkur’s blog..??
Well anyway, let the heated fight continue, its fun to see the “Big Fight”..!! (no offence intended to either of you both)
Oh come on, if you REALLY want to refer to history books, then REFER to them and then mention then. FYI, Yahoo! Mail was launched in 1997, not ‘even before 1994’. And this new announcement is on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Yahoo! Mail.
Wow, so now I’ve a new reader in your mom! Cool!
As for the MS ad, it’s not about the ad – it’s the humor. I mean, everyone’s seen the Mac vs PC ads, so I thought maybe I should post the PC vs Mac ad too. Of course, it’s really pathetic, and some things in it cry out ‘Windows is BAD’, but what the heck!
And I don’t GET why you say YMB takes time to load! I mean, over here, it loads like greased lightening, while Gmail takes sooooo long.
