AIEEE 2009 rank analysis for college admissions

I came across this incredibly useful link on the Softloads blog, but it seems that for some reason their hosting company has taken down their blog. A lot of the comments on my VITEEE 2009 results post had veered towards advice on starting / closing ranks for admissions to NITs and other colleges through AIEEE 2009.

Kudos to Sarthak and Akshay – the guys behind Softloads – for finding out the link to this tool: the AIEEE rank analysis tool. This thing is just superb. Go to that page and enter your category (general / SC / ST / OBC etc), college / institute you want admission in, and the course / branch you want admission in. Their system seems to be working a bit slowly because of the load they must be facing from so many visitors, so be patient for a while. It will show you the opening and closing ranks for admission to NITs (or other institutes) – both all India rank and home state rank (for that particular state) for your category.

Hopefully, this should clear most of the queries that you may have about admissions through AIEEE. And do remember to drop by and say thanks at Softloads once their site is up!

PS – Naman (who’s studying at NIT Bhopal) has pointed out this bit of information in the comments section:

I would like to add a point to the post that the tool provides information of allotment through the 1st counseling. According to the tool, for IT @ NIT Bhopal(All India quota) closing rank was 7,157.

But due to vacancies in other branches a lot of internal sliding usually takes place(on basis of AIEEE ranks) and I managed to get IT at a rank of 14,191.

Note to all posting comments along the lines of “What branch will I get”: What do you think the bloody link is for? Click on it, go to that page, and find out. Stop bugging me with “What branch will I get with this rank” comments. I will NOT answer comments like these. If you’ve anything else to add to the discussion then please feel free to do so.

plz tell me which rank is considered overall or category rank??my gen rank is 18k and overall is 22k can i get civil in any nits…..and is it correct that civil is in great demand this year????

i hav got eee ranking of 11548 and 9422 in gen category my state is raj and my state rank is 1408. can i get admission in cse or aeronautical in any coll. what courses can i get in bit,mesra.my jee eml rank is e2469 can i get admission in iist or iiser and how are thw placement opportunities thru them

ur link above was useful but not conclusive can u be more specific if i can get aeronautical in iist or any other coll. and wether i hav a chance in bit,mesra .the opening and closing ranks on eee sites are giving a vague idea

Look, I’m not the one who’s allotting courses. There IS no way of being specific other than actually taking part in the counselling. There are way to many factors involved, so I can only give answers in general.

i hav got call frm daiict but i hav to
pay its fees on 25 june .but i dont know what i get in eee by that time what should i do. how
good a coll is iiser

Dude if you’ve got a call from DAIICT, then take it! With your AIEEE rank, you are NOT going to get anything better than this. IISER is not for engineering; you need to be aware of and OK with the fact that you’ll get a basic sciences degree. More here.

2.I have also applied at Dhiru Bhai, Jaypee. Will i be able to qualify them?
3. Which out of the 4 ranks given above do we consider at the time of counseling?
4. If i am not getting into any of the aboves which other coll. will you recommed to me-coz i have no favorites in terms of branh or location.

AIR under Home State Quota

DOES IT MEANS THAT state ranks are considered in state nit or it is All India Rank (under Home State Quota) .please clarify it bcoz there is lot of confusion in it

but again there is confusion,, now confusion lies that

its ok AIR under Home State Quota means State rank. But see the datas of MNIT allabhad
All India End Rank : 2,616
AIR under Home State Quota : 2,635 (for computer science).
why these digits r so close ? why a student whose state rank is 1000 to 2000 did not apply for home state Quato
and easily get into MNIT? explain plz. bcoz this thing i am not able to digest seriouly .

Is there any kind of state quota in NITs for students of those states which don’t have any NIT in their state???
