Modem 2007 : A Late Late Post

I was only reminded of doing this post when I was speaking about Pony’s crush at Access…

Modem 2007 was held at Modern School, Vasant Vihar this year, oh I don’t know when. It was an event worth forgetting. Frankly, they didn’t have the mInfrastructure and the mResources (to rip-off from somewhere else which no longer exists online) to conduct an mEvent, and were proud of it. That’s not only it – their standards as far as the quiz is concerned have fallen too. Have a look at the Modem 2002 Quiz prelims. This year’s prelims were a shame, with ultra easy questions. As such, I dunno WHO checked the papers, but none of the biggies like us, MIS (team Bwubwubwuh – geez, I just can’t get it right in writing), or DPS RKP qualified. Tch.

Most people thus had nothing more than watch the chicks of MS VV this year. Not that anyone regretted it, but I wouldn’t mind having a trophy too. Then again, we were reminded of the MS VV teacher whom Pony had a crush on. He’d sent us with a secret mission to get a pic of hers this time, but ah sigh, we failed. Sample The Worst Pick-Up Line of the Century that Pony made last year…

Pony (going up to that teacher whom he has a crush on): Ma’am, could you tell me the French teacher of this school is?
Teacher: Sure, why beta?
Pony: I’ve a doubt in French. Could you please take me to the French teacher?

Pony also promised that if he was in Delhi this year, he’d come to Modem as my ‘brother’ just to have a look at her. Not that she’s half that bad though…

Modern School, Vasant Vihar also happens to have these weird toilets with no partitions in between. I guess that’s taking the whole ‘open source’ ideology to a whole new level…

No boundary urinalsAnd, not to forget the high-tech way to play songs in an auditorium – by putting a microphone in front of a speaker, rather than utilising the audio ports of the nearby computer.

Access 2007 Invite

Access 2007 will be held at Modern School, Barakhamba Road on 18-19 December 2007. Generally happens to be the event where the younglings of the club take over the reigns from the oldies, but since Lord Vader is preoccupied in the construction of Death Star version 2.0, I had to shun thoughts of retirement and go along. Access is always an event where kiddos get exposure for the first time, being an open event as far as the number of teams that can be sent.

The Access site isn’t much to speak of – it STILL says ‘Modern School presents Access 2005’, so you can understand how updated it is; plus they haven’t made available all the rules in an easy download. You can do so here by downloading the Access 2007 Invite kit.

Speaking of the Code Warriors, I am very concerned about Lord Vader. It seems he’s totally turned over to the Dork Side of the Force… 🙁
