The Ten Avatars of Goddess Durga

Yet another photo set of mine, this one taken way back during this year’s Durga Puja. Yes, I do happen to step out of my house and visit them, albeit for a very short time this year. It’s not my creation, these photos, BTW – they’re simply snaps of a wall decorations at one of the better-looking Durga Puja’s at Chitto Park in New Delhi, which depict the ten different avatars of Goddess Durga. Frankly, neither do I know anything about this stuff, so anyone anyone who can enlighten me by leaving comments on any avatar here on my blog, or preferably, in my Flickr photo tag page will be greatly appreciated.

I just hope I haven’t lost my touch in reading Bengali, and have named the photos correctly. More stuff on the Pujo, coming soon, hopefully…

The Ten Avatars of Goddess Durga!?!! On GQB!?!! Please, bring on the paid posts anyday!

@Rach: Dude, there’s a dearth of good Bong blogs around, and there were a LOT of people who wanted a post on the Durga Puja. I don’t have time for that right now, so I just put up some stuff in the interim.

Those were great pics…I did not know Goddess Durga had ten avatars also…Anyways..Good to see posts like these on ur blog – Keep up the good work GQ..
