Dynamix 2008 & Times of India Fun-da-Mental Quiz 2007 Prelims

Three papers being uploaded. Two are from Dynamix 2008, an event which was totally rigged. (Surprisingly, if you visit their website you’ll find that Prashanth ‘Jimi Hendrix’ Kanduri’s name is not listed among alumni. LOL.)

The interesting thing to note is that a lot of the questions in the quiz have been ripped off from my quiz archives. So that’s another lesson learnt for newbie quizzers – don’t forget to pore through my archives. πŸ˜€

The crossword which they gave is truly lame. Really, there’s nothing to figure out and the clues / answers themselves are lame. I generally suggest my juniors to go to as many events as possible to stay in touch for the big competitions, but Dynamix 2008 would most definitely not prepare you for what’s in store at Code Wars 2008.

The other paper is the Times of India Fun-da-Mental Quiz 2007 Prelims. Prashanth uploaded these earlier, but that one was incomplete. I found this one in a file Prateek Vijayavargia sent me a long time ago (and which I’d totally forgetten about). Many more archives, coming soon.

PS – Prashanth wanted me to add here that he was not involved in Dynamix 2008, but he was involved in Dynamix 2007.

ya its been copied

We came in sixth position and stood third in prelims
Thanks for your advice
although two schools got easy questions but there is no need to cry over spilt milk

@ Sarthak – U are from which school?

@ Ankur – Thanks for putting the NIE Fun-da-mental Paper, that was quite quick πŸ˜‰
Anyways, yes I know the Quiz Prelims was a rip-off from previous archive (Most qns picked up from either CW/Exun 2003 Archives)…But the crossword was not that bad (I mean just the clues – Atleast it was cryptic)
Which brings me to tell everyone out there that the Tech/Computer/IT Quizzing circuit needs some originality and deserved it – It lacks innovation – People need to frame news qns (Not just stick to Acronyms and stuff) – And try to incorporate different types of qns, and do more research – In that aspect, I expect CW and Exun to be like that way this year πŸ™‚
There is a need for new, fresh questions so that the enjoyment and satisfaction is there. Most Quizzes (tech ones that is) pick up qns copy paste and then give it…

@Prateek: Oh yes, Code Wars is going to be fresh. We always have fresh questions (even last year). This year too, the questions are so shining new (AND tough) that everyone will be crying. πŸ˜€

@ Ankur – Okay lets hope for the best at Code Warriors! And yes, I agree – Most of the crossword answers did not make sense πŸ˜‰ I suppose it went too cryptic….

How did you guys get to know about the leak thingie? And sure it was a leak – an outright one. The same teams with the identical members: 1. From Greenfields & 2. From MSM. happened to finish of the crossword finals blindingly fast, and with the terribly cryptic stuff too, actually did the whole thing, which I think is too improbable to be fair. (Btw, sorry for the naming thing. I know its a bad habit πŸ™ but I too went for the crossword and was aghast at them.:-0)
Also, when are u gonna post about the Jack Kilby Science&Tech quiz that happened on the 18th October.
I was just too eager for it since I, in my first attempt, happened to be the regional winner. :D:D.

@Prateek: Code Wars, not Warriors! And the quiz is NOT cryptic, could crack most of it, but the answers they chose make no sense. It’s nothing that you could tough or good by any standard.

@Vishesh: I’ve got no data on Jack Kilby, so well, can’t post on that. πŸ™‚ But seriously, this crossword is NOT cryptic. You want something actually cryptic and tough? Try this – https://ankurb.net/2007/11/21/code-wars-2007-loadsa-downloads/
